Susiyam Recipe- Indian sweet recipes- Super Suvai Tamil
In this article, I shared my Susiyam recipe. Many south Indian sweets are delicious and flavored. One of my favorite Sweet is Susiyam. The recipe is very simple and elegant. Its flavors and aroma will give you a beautiful experience while eating it. The Susiyam Sweet is crispy out the outside and very smooth on the inside, which gives two types of eating experiences for you.
The required ingredients are listed below and the quantity is for 5 pieces. You can change the ingredient's ratio as per your requirements. The cooking and preparation time will be 30 minutes and 10 minutes.

Ingredients required for Susiyam recipe:
For Susiyam batter preparation:
- All-purpose flour or wheat flour (Gothumai or Maida)- 250 grams
- Ghee (Nei)- 2 Spoons
- Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required
- Boiled milk (Paal)- 1 cup
For Susiyam Stuff preparation:
- Bengal gram dal (Kadalai Paruppu)- 150 grams
- Jaggery (Vellam)- 150 grams
- Grated Coconut (Thengai Thuruval)- half cup
- Cardamom (Elakkai)- 2 to 3 pieces
- Ghee (Nei)- As required
Susiyam Recipe Cooking Method:
- Soak the Bengal gram dal in water for one hour, after that drain the water and spread the soaked Bengal gram dal in a cotton cloth and allow it to dry for a while
- For preparing the batter, In a mixing bowl add wheat flour or all-purpose flour, salt, and ghee.
- Mix it well for the best taste.
- Then add the boiled milk to the mixture, the milk should be a little hot. The reason for using hot milk is it gives softness to the batter. Make the batter like a smooth paste.
- In a pressure cooker add the Bengal gram dal and wait for 2 cooker sounds.
- Again dry it well and Make it as a fine powder with the help of a blender.
- Heat some ghee in the pan, add jaggery and allow it to boil.
- When it is boiling add some milk to remove dust from the jaggery.
- Add the powdered Bengal gram dal to the boiling jaggery and add some cardamom.
- Make the stuff like 5 to 6 small balls and keep it aside.
- Take the wide pan and add an adequate amount of oil. Once the oil gets heated.
- Dip the dal stuff in the batter and put it in oil.
- Allow it to cook till it becomes golden color.
- Plate the Susiyam and serve.
