What is Onion bajji?
Onion Bajji is a snack made with Onions and flour. Bajji is a deep-fried kind of dish and it has many varieties. Some of them are Raw banana Bajji, Potato Bajji, Egg Bajji, Chicken Bajji, etc

Ingredients required for Spicy Onion Bajji Recipe:
- Raw Rice (Pacharisi)- 400 grams
- Urad Dal (Ulutham Paruppu)- 100 grams
- Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required
- Chili Flakes (Milagai Vathal)- 4
- Asafoetida Powder (Perungaya Thool)- One Pinch
- Bajji Powder (Bajji Thool)- one pinch
- Any Cooking Oil (Ennai)- for deep frying
Spicy Onion Bajji Recipe Cooking Method:
Bajji Batter Preparation method:
- Soak raw rice and urad dal in a separate bowl for 30 minutes.
- In a grinder, put the soaked rice, urad dal, and grind it like an idli batter.
- Then add Chili flakes, Asafoetida, salt in the batter while grinding.
- Finally, add some food color to the batter mix it well.
Spicy Onion Bajji Cooking method:
- Heat the required amount of oil in a pan for deep fry.
- Slice the onions with the help of a vegetable slicer, you can also use other veggies like cauliflower, potato, raw banana, and non-veggies like chicken and egg to make Bajji.
- Once the oil is heated, dip the Onion slice into the batter and put it slowly in oil.
- Once the bajji turns golden brown on both sides take it off from the oil and remove the excess oil using kitchen tissue.
- Serve the bajji hot with tea or some chutneys for good taste.
