 Ingredients required for spicy carrot poriyal recipe:

  1. Carrot (Semmullangi)- 250 grams
  2. Shallots (Chinna Vengayam)- 4 shallots
  3. Green Chili (Pachai Milagai)- 3 Chili
  4. Grated Coconut (Thengai Thuruval- one cup)
  5. Mustard Seeds (Kadugu)- one tablespoon
  6. Curry leaves (Karuveppilai)- one strand
  7. Oil (Ennai)- two tablespoons
  8. Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required

Spicy Carrot poriyal Recipe cooking method:

  1. Peel off the skin from the carrots and wash it thoroughly in warm water.
  2. Finely chop the shallots, green chilies, and curry leaves.
  3. Heat one tablespoon of oil in the pan, add mustard seeds and urad dal.
  4. Add finely chopped shallots, green chilies, curry leaves and saute till the raw smell goes off.
  5. Then add the grated carrot and cook it for seven minutes till the carrots cook.
  6. Finally, add grated coconut and serve it with rice or chapati.
