Ingredients required for spicy carrot poriyal recipe:
- Carrot (Semmullangi)- 250 grams
- Shallots (Chinna Vengayam)- 4 shallots
- Green Chili (Pachai Milagai)- 3 Chili
- Grated Coconut (Thengai Thuruval- one cup)
- Mustard Seeds (Kadugu)- one tablespoon
- Curry leaves (Karuveppilai)- one strand
- Oil (Ennai)- two tablespoons
- Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required
Spicy Carrot poriyal Recipe cooking method:
- Peel off the skin from the carrots and wash it thoroughly in warm water.
- Finely chop the shallots, green chilies, and curry leaves.
- Heat one tablespoon of oil in the pan, add mustard seeds and urad dal.
- Add finely chopped shallots, green chilies, curry leaves and saute till the raw smell goes off.
- Then add the grated carrot and cook it for seven minutes till the carrots cook.
- Finally, add grated coconut and serve it with rice or chapati.
