Chennai Style Chicken Manchurian Recipe- Super Suvai Tamil

Chicken Manchurian is a very famous chicken recipe in India. All non-vegetarian restaurants have this recipe on their menu card. Chicken Manchurian is a very easy and tasty chicken recipe.

What is chicken Manchurian?

Chicken Manchurian is a Chinese recipe that is a combination of fried chicken and a thick and tangy Manchurian sauce. You can try this recipe with cauliflower as well and that is called Gobi Manchurian in India.

Ingredients needed for Chicken Manchurian Recipe:

  • Boneless Chicken (Elumbilla Kozhi Kari)- 450 grams
  • Maida Flour (Maida Maavu)- 115 grams
  • Baking Powder (Samayal Soda)- one tablespoon
  • Pepper Powder (Milagu Thool)- half tablespoon
  • Corn flour (Cholla Maavu)- 50 grams
  • Egg (Muttai)- one(beat it well before use)
  • Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required
  • Water (Thanneer)- One Cup
  • Onion (Vengayam)- one big sized(finely chopped)
  • Green Chilies (Pachai Milagai)- 2(finely chopped)
  • Garlic (Poondu)- 6 cloves(finely chopped)
  • Green Capsicum (Kudai Milagai)- 1(finely chopped)
  • Soya Sauce (Soy Sauce)- one tablespoon
  • Vinegar (Kaadi)- half tablespoon
  • Oil (Ennai)- As required

 Chicken Manchurian Recipe Cooking Method:

  1. First, chop the boneless chicken into one-inch pieces, and in a mixing bowl add maida flour, baking powder, pepper powder, cornflour, egg, salt, chopped chicken and mix the above ingredients well. Allow the chicken to marinate well for 15 minutes.
  2. In a frying pan add the required amount of oil for frying, once oil gets heated fry the chicken pieces well till it turns golden brown.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan, then add finely chopped onions, finely chopped garlic, finely chopped green chilies, capsicum, and saute well.
  4. Then add one tablespoon of soya sauce and half tablespoon of vinegar(for tanginess) to it and saute the mixture with sauces well.
  5. Once the onions and capsicum are cooked nicely, add some salt and cornflour paste to it and allow it to boil well.
  6. Once you get the thick saucy texture to add the fried chicken pieces to it and saute for two minutes.
  7. Now our Chicken Manchurian is ready. Use some finely chopped spring onions as toppings before serving.

Notes:

  • If you use other chickens like country chicken, boil it in water before cooking. If you use it without boiling then the chicken will not cook on time.
  • For making cornflour paste, add one tablespoon of cornflour in half a cup of water.
