Ingredients required for chicken salna recipe:
- Chicken(Kozhi Kari)- 250 grams(with bones)
- Tomato(Thakkali)- 200 grams
- Shallots(Chinna Vengayam)- 100 grams(Chopped)
- Gingelly Oil(Nallennai)- four tablespoons
- Coconut(Thengai)- 1 part
- Red Chilies(Sigappu Milagai)- 8
- Cumin Seeds(Seeragam)- two tablespoons
Chicken Salna Recipe Cooking Method:
- In a mixer, add sliced shallots, red chilies, cumin seeds and grind them into a fine paste.
- Take a pressure cooker, heat some oil in it and add the onion chili paste and saute it well
- Once the raw smell of onion goes off add the finely chopped tomatoes to it and saute well till the tomato becomes soft and tender.
- Now add the chicken pieces, saute well and cover the cooker lid, wait for 2 cooker whistles.
- After pressure goes off, heat the curry and add a cup of coconut milk to it and add the required salt.
- Allow the curry to boil, once the oil begins to float turn off the stove.
- Serve the chicken salna hot after garnishing with paratha or chapati.
Notes(Tips for tasty Chicken Salna):
- You can also use coconut paste instead of coconut milk. But be sure that coconut is finely pasted to avoid digestive issues
