Gramathu Style Chicken Adai recipe-Super Suvai Tamil

In India, countryside foods are always different from city foods. Their cooking techniques are different and the way of cooking a dish is also is different. When thinking of chicken recipes common recipes come to our mind in Chicken Manchurian, chicken roast, etc

In this post, I am sharing a different chicken recipe called Chicken Adai. This is a country-style recipe and can be made easily at home.

Ingredients required for Chicken Adai Recipe:

For Chicken Adai Powder:

  • Rice(Parboiled)- 250 cup
  • Chana dal(Kadalai Paruppu)- 250 cup
  • Toor dal(Thuvaram Paruppu)- 250 cup
  • Red chilies(Sigappu Milagai)- 7
  • Black Pepper(Milagu)- 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger(Inji)- 1-inch size
  • Garlic(Poondu)- 9 cloves
  • Curry leaves(Karuvepillai)- one strand

For making Chicken Adai:

  • Adai Powder- one cup
  • Pepper Powder(Milagu Podi)- half tablespoon
  • Ginger(Inji)- As required
  • Green Chilies(Pachai Milagai)- As required
  • Boneless Chicken(Kozhi Kari)- 250 grams
  • Turmeric Powder(Manjal Thool)- half tablespoon
  • Onion(Vengayam)- one(small-sized)
  • Garlic Cloves (Poondu Pal)- 5 cloves 
  • Water(Thanneer)- 1 cup
  • Curd(Thayir)- 1 tablespoon

Chicken Adai Recipe Cooking Method:

Chicken Adai Batter recipe:

  1. Soak parboiled rice, chana dal, Toor dal in water for one hour.
  2. Grind it coarsely with six red chilies, ginger, garlic, black pepper, curry leaves.
  3. Add required salt and add some water to it.

Gramathu Style Chicken Adai Recipe:

  1. Cut the boneless chicken into small pieces and marinate that chicken with turmeric powder, salt, curd, and pepper powder. Let it marinate for half an hour for good taste.
  2. Dissolve the Adai batter with water, add finely chopped onions, chopped ginger, chopped garlic, chopped green chilies and allow the batter to soak for 15 minutes.
  3. Then add marinated chicken to the soaked adai batter, mix it well.
  4. Heat two drops of oil in a pan, pour some batter on the pan and make it like a dosa.
  5. Cook it on a low flame, to cook the chicken properly.
  6. Now our Chicken Adai is ready to serve.
  7. Serve Chicken Adai with some chutneys.

 Note (Tips for Crispy Chicken Adai):

  1. While grinding the Adai Batter, make it coarsely for crispy Adai.
