Keerai Poriyal Recipe | Side dish recipes | Super Suvai Tamil
In this post, I am sharing the Keerai Poriyal recipe. Keerai is known as spinach in English. There are many varieties are Keerai. All are very high in nutrition. In this cooking recipe, I am using Siru Keerai. Here I am sharing the Siru Keerai Poriyal recipe. Siru Keerai can be cooked in many ways with grams and other ingredients, I also posted the Siru Keerai Kulambu recipe.
The serving size for these ingredients is 2 people. If you cook for more than 2 peoples increase the Ingredients ratios. The preparation time and the cooking time will be 10 and 15 minutes respectively.
Ingredients required for Keerai Poriyal Recipe:
- Siru Keerai (Greens)- 1 bundle
- Big Onion (Periya Vengayam)- 2 nos
- Grated coconut (Thengai Thuruval)- half cup
- Garlic Cloves (Poondu)- 4 cloves
- Mustard seeds (Kadugu)- quarter spoon
- Urad dal (Ulutham Paruppu)- half spoon
- Red chili (Sigappu Milagai)- 2 nos
- Oil (Ennai)- As required
- Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required
Siru Keerai Poriyal recipe cooking method:
- Finely chop the Siru Keerai, each cut should be fine.
- Heat an adequate amount of oil in the pan. Add mustard seeds, Urad dal, and roast it finely.
- Then add chopped dry red chilies to it. and saute it well.
- Add the finely chopped Onions to it and cook the onions thoroughly.
- Then add the chopped Siru Keerai to the sauteed onions and mix it well.
- Close the pan with the high of the lid and allow the Keerai to cook completely for 15 minutes.
- Then add smashed garlic and grated coconut to the Siru Keerai Poriyal for garnishing.
- Serve the Siru Keerai Poriyal with Rice.
