Crispy Potato Chips Recipe- Super Suvai Tamil

Snacks are the best combination for evening tea. When thinking about snacks first thing that comes to my mind is crispy and spicy potato chips. Many brands sell potato chips but homemade food is always good and healthy. So, in this, we are going to see the crispy potato chips recipe.

What is Potato Chips Dish?

Potato chips are a crunchy and spicy dish made with potatoes and red chili powder. It is crispy and spicy there are some techniques to make the potato chips so crispy.

Ingredients required for crispy potato chips recipe:

  • Big Potato(Periya Urulaikilangu)- 250 grams
  • Chili Powder (Sigappu Milagai Thool)- As per your taste
  • Oil (Ennai)- As required for frying
  • Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required

Crispy Potato Chips Cooking Method:

  1. First, wash the potatoes thoroughly don't peel the potatoes' skin because the skin will increase the crispness of the potato chips.
  2. Cut the potato into round slices make it as thin as possible. Then immerse the potato slices in the water and put them in a tissue or white cloth to remove the excess water.
  3. Heat some oil in the pan, put the round-shaped potatoes in the oil, and fry it till the potatoes turn golden brown. 
  4. Take it off from the oil and keep it in tissues to remove oil.
  5. Finally, sprinkle the required amount of chili powder and salt over it.
  6. Store the potato chips in an airtight container to prevent their crispness.
  7. Serve it as a snack in teatime or a side dish for your meal.

Notes (Tips to make crispy potato chips):

  1. After taking off the potato slices from the water, place them separately in a white cloth to remove the excess water.
  2. For slicing the potatoes for chips, use the vegetable slicer instead of a knife for thin slices
