Ingredients required for Spicy Vegetable Samosa Recipe:
- All-purpose flour (Maida Maavu)- 125 grams
- Chili Flakes (Vathal Podi)- one and half a tablespoon
- Potato (Urulai Kilangu)- 100 grams
- Turmeric Powder (Manjal Thool)- 1/4 tablespoon
- Green Peas (Pachai Pattani)- 100 grams
- Coriander Leaves (Kothamalli Ilai)- For Garnishing
- Groundnut Oil (Kadalai Ennai)- 250 grams
- Ginger (Inji)- half inch
- Cumin Seeds (Seeragam)- half tablespoon
- Garam Masala (Vasanai Masala)- one tablespoon
- Cashew nuts (Mundhiri Paruppu)- 10 pieces
- Salt (Uppu in Tamil)- As required
- Green Chili (Pachai Milagai)- 2 (big)
Spicy Vegetable Samosa Recipe Cooking Method:
Spicy Vegetable stuff preparation:
- Boil, peel off the potatoes mash them lightly.
- In a mixing bowl, add mashed potatoes, chili flakes, turmeric powder, salt, finely chopped ginger, Garam
masala, boiled green peas, cashew nuts, green chili, coriander leaves, and knead it well.
- Heat some oil in the pan, add cumin seeds, potato masala and saute for a minutes
Samosa Sheets preparation method:
- In a mixing bowl, add one cup of maida flour, two tablespoons, required salt, and water.
- Knead the flour-like chapati dough and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- For vegetable samosa, the sheet has to be soft and crunchy.
- Divide the samosa dough and roll it like a chapati.
- Then in a pan, heat some oil and semi cook the samosa sheet on both sides.
- Cut the samosa sheet into two equal parts, follow this procedure for all doughs.
Vegetable Samosa Preparation Method:
- Heat the required amount of oil in the frying pan.
- Roll the samosa sheets and fill them with some spicy vegetable stuff.
- Cover the edges of the samosa sheet and seal it with a maida and water paste.
- Follow the above steps for all samosa sheets.
- Deep fry the samosa in the oil till it becomes golden brown in color.
- Remove the excess water from vegetable samosa using the kitchen tissue.
- Serve the samosa hot with tomato ketchup or tea in the evening.
