Fish Cutlet Recipe- Super Suvai Tamil

Cutlets are a good choice for an evening snack with tea. In this blog post, I am sharing a fish cutlet recipe. This is an easy recipe that can be prepared within one hour.

What is Fish Cutlet?

As we know cutlet is a snack that has spicy stuffings covered by a crispy coating. In fish cutlets, stuffings are made by a fish(any high muscle fish). The same procedure can be used with vegetables also.

Ingredients needed for fish cutlet recipe:

  • Mackarel fish(or tuna)- 500 grams
  • Big Onions (Periya Vengayam)-Two
  • Full Egg(Mulu Muttai)- 1
  • Bread crumbs(bread thool)- As required
  • Ginger garlic paste(Inji Poondu Viludhu)- one tablespoon
  • Lemon juice(Elumichai Saaru)- one tablespoon
  • Pepper powder(Milagu Thool)- half tablespoon
  • Red Chili powder(Sigappu Milagai Thool)- one tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder(Manjal Thool)- one tablespoon
  • Green chilies(Pachai Milagai)- 6
  • Oil(Ennai)- As required for frying
  • Salt(Uppu in Tamil)- As required 

Fish Cutlet recipe cooking method:

  1. In a bowl, add fish, turmeric powder and let it cook in water for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the unwanted skin, bones from the fish, and smash it.
  3. Now add red chili powder and salt to the fish and knead it well.
  4. Heat some oil in the pan, add finely chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chilies and saute it well till the raw smell of onion goes off.
  5. Now add the sauteed mixture, lemon juice to the fish, mix it well and shape the filling as per your idea
  6. For coating, take a mixing bowl add egg, salt, pepper powder, and whisk the egg for 2 minutes.
  7. Now coat the fish fillings with this egg followed by bread crumbs.
  8. Heat some oil in a pan and deep fry the fish cutlets till it turns golden brown in color.
  9. Serve the fish cutlets hot with some tomato ketchup or chili sauce.

Notes(Tips for Tasty Fish Cutlet):

  1. For fish cutlets use a single center bonefish for easy preparation.
